C.J. Car Sales is a family business which was established in 1995, as an independent used car dealer.

C.J. Car Sales was formed by Charles Pontikis whose experience was gained by working for Volkswagen UK for 11 years and then Mercedes Benz for a further 5 years.

Its formation was inspired by the birth of Charles’ disabled son CJ in June 1995. Due to CJ’s disability (he was born with cerebal palsy) Charles decided the only way to spend more time with his son was to combine his love for his son and his vast experience of sourcing and supplying quality used motor vehicles.

Thus C.J. Car Sales came to be.

As the business grew and times changed, Charles later enlisted the help of many dealerships he had close relationships with, and they in turn provided C.J. Car Sales with a flow of quality used vehicles which were taken in part exchange at main dealer level.

This in turn has been a major contributing factor to the longevity of the business, even in these economically difficult times. We continue to offer excellent cars, at great value.

We pride ourselves on being a Family Run Business that believes in old fashioned values. We try to treat each customer as an individual and not simply just as another sale, which unfortunately in these days with the advent of the supermarket style of selling, pile them high and sell them cheap is becoming harder to find.

We specialize in One Owner vehicles which are sourced and hand picked by the owner Charles using his vast knowledge and many contacts within the motor trade. Charles travels an average of 50,000 miles a year searching for One Owner low mileage vehicles. Every one of our vehicles has a Full Service History and is also HPI clear.

We don’t promise to be the cheapest. We don’t promise to give you a minimum part exchange figure or 0% finance. We feel that these are only things that are used to disguise the true cost of a car and the customer normally ends up paying more for their car in the long run.

We do promise to give you good value for money. We do promise to provide quality used reasonably priced vehicles that are sourced as if we were sourcing our own private vehicle. We do promise to offer you a fair price for your part exchange, whether we are keeping that vehicle for re-sale or underwriting it with outside dealers.

We do promise to service every car before it leaves us, and if the vehicle has less than 5 month’s mot remaining, we will put that vehicle orward and issue it with a 12 month mot. We will promise to sell each vehicle inclusive of a 3 month warranty which covers parts/labour for all non-wear and tear parts.

We acknowledge that none of these ideas are new or even revolutionary. But they work, perhaps that is one of the reasons why so many of our business is from repeat customers and referrals.
